Committee’s Mission Statement:

The Communications Committee’s Mission is to facilitate the flow of information and ideas to and between owners, management, and guests.

On-going Activities:

1. The Resident Manager’s monthly report (in WORD format) and the monthly Financials (in PDF format) are being received and posted to the paniolohale.org web site on a timely basis.

Owner’s account information is not posted on the web site, but information on delinquent owner’s accounts is available upon written request. No written requests were received.

2. Maintained the AOAO’s web site “panhale.org” and its Yahoo Group titled: “Paniolo Hale Owners Forum.”

3. Maintenance of Owner’s information for use by the Resident Manager in an emergency and the AOAO’s on-line telephone and e-mail directory.

4. We have begun efforts to establish a database of Unit and Owner information using Microsoft Access. The goal is to establish a permanent electronic receptacle for property information in an easily searchable format.

Problems encountered in achieving our mission:

1. Some owners continue to have difficulties accessing the Yahoo-based Paniolo Hale Owner’s Forum. The problem is usually that they have forgotten their Yahoo user name or password. Unfortunately, we cannot retrieve this information without logging in as the user.

2. The web site needs to move from the present security system requiring a password for each document containing proprietary information to one that has only one security portal that an owner must pass before accessing a document.

3. We need owner-volunteers with web site design and/or database design to join the committee.
