The Overflow Tank: |

This wrench is needed to open the
hatch of the Overflow Tank. It is kept
behind the Control Panel door. Unscrew
the protection plug and use the wrench to open the hatch. |

The Overflow Tank is not used as part
of the normal operation of the SPS.
The tank was originally part of the old Sewer Treatment Plant, and
upon its abandonment in 2002, it was designed into the operating concept of
the new SPS. It’s purpose is only to
provide emergency backup storage of sewage in the unlikely event that both
main pumps in the Wetwell fail for some reason. The most likely scenario for using the
Overflow Tank would be if there is an extended power outage and the |
