Property News Respect for the Ocean’s power Owners and guests are reminded that drownings in the West End’s waters do occur. On January 6th there was a tragic death along Papohaku Beach. While the details of the tragedy haven’t yet been reported, we must be respectful of the ocean’s danger and think before getting close to the water. Please keep in mind the universal precaution: “Never turn your back to the ocean.” Homeowners Insurance Requirement Owners must purchase insurance, such as an HO-6 policy or its equivalent and submit evidence of this insurance by way of sending in a copy of your declaration page to Destination Maui, Inc. (DMI) not later than February 1, 2012. If you do not do so, DMI will send you a reminder notice on February 1st via email and US mail that your insurance document has not been received. On March 1, 2012, if DMI has not received your insurance document, the Association will bind insurance for you by force placement with Insurance Associates at an approximate cost of $335, plus a $50 processing charge for one year. This charge will be nonrefundable. On an ongoing basis you need to submit to DMI your insurance document as your insurance expires each year. Paniolo Hale Staff Holiday Gift Fund Thanks to the generosity of the Paniolo Hale owners, each staff
member has received their Holiday gift.
Contributions to the fund received by DMI after the 2011 deadline will
be used for the 2012 holiday fund. |
